CURRICULUM OVERVIEW OF PEDIATRIC NURSING

Pediatric nursing (1 year Specialization Program)

Curriculum framework is based on knowledge, its understanding and application in and an evaluation of the effect on nursing care.

OBJECTIVES OF THE PROGRAM

At the end of the course, the learners will be able to:

  • Be skillful in all aspects of Critical Care Nursing by improving physical, social, emotional and intellectual well being of the patient.
  • Recognize the individual needs of critically ill patient.
  • Utilize therapeutic communication skills and establish good relationships with the patient, family and colleagues.
  • Prioritize patient individual needs and implement the systemic approach to enhance nursing standards.
  • Organize and manage unit / department as per protocols.
  • Develop the learner’s ability to respond to changing needs in critical care in an analytical way.

CURRICULUM IS BEING TAUGHT ON ANNUAL BASIS INSTEAD OF MODULE BASIS CLASSIFIED IN FOLLOWING SUBJECTS.

The Post RN B.Sc Nursing Program is a two years program designed to provide students with a liberal education which prepares them to be direct care-givers, teachers, counselors and advocator for client, family and community at large.

PROGRAM OBJECTIVES’ ARE TO

  1. Provide a theoretical knowledge of principles and methods related to nursing education.
  2. Strengthen the quality of teaching and management in hospitals and in schools of nursing through teaching of current concepts and skills.
